School's Out For Summer... well sorta

I was debating on whether or not I wanted to post this on my family blog or on my homeschool blog and I decided that this was the place for it to go since it's not homeschooling and I'll have a TON of homeschooling pictures coming soon since Alyssa's already ready to tackle 3rd grade. I'm not going to be teaching them hard core during the summer but bits and pieces to see where they are and get them to where they need to be if they aren't there yet, which they probably are ready to go.

Here are some of the pictures we took at their "celebrations" at their school on the last day. Enjoy!

Samara and her best friend Isaiah.
Samara and her teacher. We are so proud of Samara!! And her teacher did a wonderful job this year!

Nattie thinks she should be able to join her sister in whatever she's doing since she is "big" enough. She says, "I know what to do and I will be a big girl!" Haha. Usually she's right but this time there was no way she was going to be allowed to go stand by Samara while Samara was doing her songs, etc at her celebration. Sorry Nattie Grace, maybe next year!

Samara holding her certificate! So excited!!

Alyssa's teacher did a slide-show presentation for the families and then let each of us take a DVD of it home. She is so thoughtful. I'm so proud of Alyssa, she did an excellent job this year. There were so many obstacles that she had to face, some of which she didn't know how to handle, but when it was said and done I think she showed 2nd grade who was boss! Hehe.

Nattie and Alyssa waiting for the presentation to start. So cool.

Alyssa giving her teacher one last hug before hitting the door.

Alyssa and one of her good friends since last year, A.J.

Alyssa, Samara, and Natalie, we are so proud of all three of you girls. You are such sweet girls and love to learn. I am so glad that Daddy and I get the opportunity to help you through life. I hope and pray that you will learn and grow all that you need to know and I have no doubt that you will do great things with your lives! Thanks for being AWESOME!!!

Oh and I put School's Out For Summer... well sorta as the title because technically school's out but it's only been 2 days and I've already gotten asked about a million times if I could teach each of the girls. Yes, they really do LOVE to learn.

Bible Verses

Mara has been doing "school at home" since Syssa's in school. We do lots of fun activities, lots of coloring, and she's learning Bible verses (along with some school-type stuff like drawing lines and that type of stuff). These are the three Bible verses that Alyssa and Samara have both memorized. I'm so proud of her. She's only three and I'm sure she knows the Bible better than some. ;-) I'm going to type what she is saying after each video because you can barely understand her. I told her to talk loudly so the camera could hear her. Here's what I got.

In the begininning, God created the heavens and the earth. Genesis 1:1

Thy word have I hid in my heart, that I might not sin against thee. Psalms 119:11

Thus Noah did according to all that God commanded him, so he did. Genesis 6:22

Samara turns 3!!!

Samara is now 3!!! I can't believe it. Here are some pictures of each birthday.

The most important birthday!

Samara turning one.

Eating cake at her second birthday

Her third birthday. Here's the M and M cake that she wanted me to make. I decided to write Samara around the edge since Happy BDay Mara didn't fit on the top. Then I covered it with M and Ms to hide the mess I made trying to write Happy BDay Mara.

We had Mara's party at a park kind of close by... about 20 minutes away. This is Mara in one of the tubes at the park.

Syssa at the park.

Going down the slide with friends.
Nattie had a great time playing with some friends. Here one of her friends is sound asleep. Party Pooper. :-)
The kids made bug jars. I had forgotten glue but a friend of ours was gracious enough to go and buy some glue. Thanks for saving the day!

Getting ready to open up presents.

My little princess.
Micah took a video of the candles being blown out. Mommy helped a little.
Eating cake.
After the birthday party we went with some of our relatives to Wall-E. It was cute but afterwards the girls were all tuckered out. Here they are after we pulled into the garage at our house. Sound asleep. Nattie was the only one awake but she went right back to sleep.
All in all her party was a success she is definitely the cutest 3 year old on the face of this earth. I love her to death. She's getting so big and is going to do something great with her life. I know that because she's very determined and very strong-willed. She's a precious gift from God and I'm proud to call her my daughter.

Samara's ABC's

Here is Samara singing her ABC's and something else I'm not sure what song it is.
