Our first pool trip

This is the first time we went to the pool this summer. We've already had a ton more pool trips. We plan on going a whole lot this summer too. This first time the girls got in except for Natalie and even the older two got out about 20 mins after being in. Nattie now does get in as well. They all love it. We're looking forward to many more trips to the pool to cool off. It's supposed to get up to 100 today not to mention the humidity. YUCK!!!

My Girls

I was standing in the bathroom putting makeup on when Alyssa runs in saying, "Mommy, Mommy I'm five years old now so I taught Mara how to pray. I taught her to say thank you for the bowls and spoons and cups and blinds and ....." the list kept going and going. She then said, "God made everything so I can pray all by myself and teach Mara how to pray all by herself to thank God for EVERYTHING since that's what He made." She was so excited. I just can't believe how awesome and smart my girls are.

Then to put sugar on top of everything this morning, Christian came this morning and wanted a poptart because the other girls had one. I discovered that there were none left. So Mara broke a piece off of hers and gave it to him. As you all can tell we're having a pretty good morning so far. Alyssa said that she didn't even need to pray for Jesus' help to be good today because she's doing it all by herself. I told her to keep praying that he helps you just in case you fell like doing something naughty. Just wanted to share my beautiful girls' thoughts with you this morning.

Family/Friends

I've been thinking quite a bit lately about my family and friends and how important they are to me. I don't know what life would be like without any of them. At times I want to be by myself but I think I'd go crazy if I was by myself all the time. I've realized recently how a good friend is that is pursuing Christ in the same manner as you are is. I've realized that my girls even though they drive me nuts sometimes are some of the greatest blessings that my life will ever hold. I hope that they remember that no matter how old they are I will always be here for them. They are the lights of my life and I wouldn't trade them for anything. Today driving home from my math class I called my hubby up and asked him if he remembered when we were in high school and every time we were apart for more than 10 minutes we'd be writing to each other or calling each other on the telephone saying that we missed each other. Now my math class is about 2 hours and it takes about half an hour to get there and back but between that time I missed my husband. I wanted to just sit with him and snuggle with him. I'm starting to see that if we want our marriage to be something great we've got to get back to the basics and just WANT to be with each other as much as we can. I just want all my family and friends to know that I appreciate all you do for me. I love you all!!!

St Michaels

A couple old houses in St Michaels. This town is a really historic town and has a lot of stuff from the war of 1812. It's really neat to look at all the old houses. If you look closely they have a plaque on the outside that says who used to live there and all that.

This was a weird sign I thought. It says "Food and drink, strollers, and four legged friends more than welcome!" Just odd because normally it's the other way around.

Our Anniversary

This was one of the historic sites when we went on a 90 minute cruise on the Miles River which is part of hte Chesapeake Bay Estuary.

This is another historic house that has a Widow's Walk. It's where wives of sailors would pace back and forth watching for their husband to come home from sea. I knew that before but I forgot about them.

A picture of us to prove that we were really on the boat. ;-) It was fun but quite windy.

Our Anniversary

This is outside the Maritime Museum that we didn't have enough time for.

Eating crabs at the Crab Claw. This restaurant was a ton better than the one we went to the night before. Look at the smile on my face. :-)

Micah taking a picture of himself.

Us together!!! Wow we're a good looking couple.

Our Anniversary

Getting ready for a wonderful evening at the Crab and Steak House.

Micah and Kim at the Crab and Steak House thinking that it's going to be great food.

The restaurant wasn't good at all. Micah ordered a Tuna steak and it was purple all the way through. I ordered a beef steak medium and I got it and it was purple and cold just brown on the outside. I had them take it back and cook it more and it wasn't very flavorful when I got it back. It was quite expensive so I was really disappointed.

We went to Tilghman Island which is farther down. We saw a boat that said Miss Kim on it so we had to take a picture.

In Tilghman Island we saw what I thought were a couple teenage girls that were driving a golf cart down the middle of the road with their dog running along side of them. It was funny.

Our Anniversary

We went to St Michaels for our anniversary this last weekend since our anniversary was on the 18th of May. It was cool. We stayed at an inn right on the water on a peninsula type thing. It was so windy when we came up that the waves were huge in the bay.

This is the volleyball court right outside our hotel room.

This is the hotel room and our van.

The beautiful water.

Bathtime

Micah decided to give Nattie a bath in the sink. She was filthy and the other two were in the shower. It was cute and she loved it.

There's a Frog in the House!!!

I was sitting at the computer on a rainy day when all of a sudden Alyssa shrieks, "There's a frog in the house". I quickly run over to the table where she was sitting eating her breakfast and sure enough there was a frog in my dining room. I caught it but before I put it outside Alyssa wanted to see it and pet it. Samara was scared until I put it outside and then she said I want to pet it so I went back outside and caught it and took it to her and she got scared and said no Mommy no put it back outside. It was funny.

Mother's Day

On Mother's Day Mommy and Daddy stayed in the nursery with the girls. We had to take a picture of the three of them with their Mommy. They all look unhappy because Mommy made them come over and get their picture taken and they didn't want to, they wanted to play. Oh well, at least I got a picture with me and them together on Mother's Day.

Holding Nattie

Now that Nattie's getting too big for Alyssa and Samara to hold they want to hold her. She kept squirming and trying to get away. Mara kept saying hurry mommy take a picture, quick. She's so funny.

Alyssa's Birthday

So I know it's a bit late but here's some pictures of Alyssa at her birthday party at the park. She got home that day and said "I was a princess today!!" She was so excited to be a princess at her birthday.

Blowing out 5 birthday candles. WOW she's getting to be such a big girl.

Say CHEESE!!

Cuties

Alyssa and Samara eating pizza on one of our hot days.

Nattie sitting in the chair that Grandma and Grandpa got from the yard sale for Alyssa a long time ago.

If you look closely you can see her pearly whites on the bottom of her mouth.

Love at First Sight

On two separate days Nattie found herself in my stand up mirror and got so excited. She started giving herself kisses both days. One of the days she had her passi in her mouth so she kept clanking the mirror with it. It was so cute.

Nattie walking

Ok so Nattie's about 7 1/2 months old and she is a go-getter for sure. She decided that she was going to take her toy and walk with it. She now has two teeth in the bottom front, one almost totally in and the other just popped through. She does an army crawl to get where she wants to go. She gets up on her hands and knees and rocks back and forth and sometimes crawls a little like that but for now she likes her army crawl the best. She says "mama" "dada" "baba" "hi" and babbles a lot about nothing. She's my little sweetheart.

Mara Running

Mara sees Mommy running on her treadmill quite a bit so she asked Daddy if she could try it. The first time she did it Micah timed her and she ran .5 mile in 10 minutes and then Alyssa got on for her try. After about 5 steps she said her tummy hurt and that she was done. Mara wasn't she got back on and ran another .5 mile in 10 minutes. She was amazing. She wasn't even breathing hard afterwards. She's amazing.

Joe Cannon 5K

I've been training for my triathlon in July for about 3 months now so I decided to try a 5K to see where I was at with the run. My goal was 31 minutes since that's one time I got when I was running by myself. I ended up getting 27 minutes something and 2nd in my age group (20-26). I was so excited. I am pumped for my triathlon now.

After the race.

The people I did the triathlon with. Thanks Monique for encouraging me to do this.

Me and my trophy for getting second in my age group.

And the legacy continues.

Easter Morning

The girls always get up and start eating the candy out of the eggs before Mommy and Daddy get their lazy bummies out of bed. They were on a sugar high for church.

Dying Easter Eggs and More

Mara and Syssa got small Mr. Potato Heads from Auntie Carla for a late Christmas present. They decided they wanted to make their own heads like Mr. Potato Head. Where do they come up with these things?

Nattie getting ready to try to crawl.

Done dying Easter eggs.

Nattie Standin

Nattie continues to amaze us as she is trying to crawl and is holding onto things standing up. She is truly amazing to watch because she is so tiny. She reminds me a lot of Alyssa at this age. She gets very frustrated when she can't pull up on something. She doesn't stand by herself or pull herself completely up but she's still very determined to do it at this point. She's a cutie and you'll see what I'm talking about with this video.

How's it going???

I haven't updated in a while. Things have been quite hectic around here and I haven't had much time to post. I'll be better about it though. Nattie's now almost crawling, she gets up on all fours and rocks. It's so cute. She is sitting up without support all the time now too. She also gets up like she's going to do a bear crawl and then plops back down to the ground. She said Hi, Dada and Mama on Friday the 14th I think. It was so cool. She did say hi first so she followed in Syssa's footsteps in that. She definitely has a mind of her own. Alyssa is doing well in school. Her teacher just says that she talks a lot and is very bubbly (not my Syssa :-) Samara is just as cute as ever. She is a Mommy's girl and a snuggler but has fire for an attitude when tested. I am so blessed with the three of them. Micah is still hard at work. We have to decide here pretty soon on whether we are getting out or staying in or leaving here or staying here. Lots of big decisions to make. I'm doing well training for my triathlon. At least I hope I am. I run 3 times a week and swim twice a week and either swim run or swim bike on Saturdays. I'll be doing a 5K on next Saturday the 29th of March. Wish me luck. I'll try and keep you more updated, sorry.

Easter Egg Hunt

We had an Easter Egg Hunt at our housing office this last Saturday. The girls had fun. I was really glad that Mara didn't notice the mom in front of us that was snatching up all the eggs with both hands. At least Mara and Nattie each got one.

Done hunting.

Nattie's Easter Egg

Mara's Easter Egg.

I'm happy to say that they did the 4 year olds by themselves so Alyssa got 6 eggs. She shared with her sister... how sweet. She found a slip of paper in one of hers and won a big Easter basket with a ball and sidewalk chalk in it. She was sooo excited.

Before the race....

Smithsonian

Micah's grandparents came and stayed with us for 2 weeks so we decided to take the Metro to the Smithsonian. It was fun. Mara cried and screamed in the first museum we went to and then was tired and whiney the rest of the day. Syssa never complained once and Nattie was absolutely excellent.

This one's for you Grandpa Ozzie.
